more of the play day...

Both the boys greeted me with a running up to me hug shouting Gramma! Talan said "your cool gramma!" yeah...don't you forget it little one!
Actually...your the two cool ones! Preslie...well she's just an angel!

EDOC`~~~~what...I'm out here at work, I'm off to hold baby!

Today was pretty slow at work so we were sent home at 1 PM. Mick has wanted to go have Preslie's picture done so I called her to see what they were up to. We met at the mall and had these cute pictures done!
Really...grandkids open up a part of your heart that you didn't know existed...each one holding their own little corner! I love being called Gramma!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY OL' MAN

July 10, 1957 this great man came to this earth to get prepared for us! Isn't he lucky! Well....we are to have him! Happy birthday bud!
We celebrated by having everyone over for a barbeque. Wanted to go up the canyons, but didn't want to miss our good friend Jake who has offered to fix the big hole in our wave runner. When I arrived home from work, he was done...WOW....we're not use to that...! So nice to ask for help on a vehicle or motorized something of ours and the help is right there! How nice.
I planned shis-k-bobs so we decided they wouldn't travel up the canyon so easy, and the baby and the hassle, we just decided to hang at home. It was SOOO nice to have EVERYONE here. No one had to work. It felt good! It felt like home! Rick said that in itself was a great birthday present! Love ya kids. You really do touch and fill our hearts in ways we just can't express!

4th of July

The 4th was a lazy dazy kind of summer week-end. Not much going on, but just hangin with the fam...
Friday the 3rd the guys all went to a Real game and us girls went to dinner and shoppin...but NO ONE Took pictures...GAY!
I had to work the day of the 4th, pretty gay that way too! Gotta do it sometimes!
We had a barbeque at Mick's but just us, the cool ones, showed up. Shawn & Ang try to split themselves between the two families-that's good, just hard to share sometimes! Tahnie had to work, but got off kind of early, they wanted some alone time, since that is kind of sparce these days! Grown up world...kind of sucks sometimes! But they are LOViN the married life!~

Rasperberries....HmmmYUMMY!

The raspberries this season are keeping me bussssy! I can't keep up with them. My freezer is so full, well, can't really go big grocery shopping, cause there's just no room! Dang...we might save some money if we don't have to eat! Raspberries and icecream with have to suffice!

JULY~where is time going!!!

Two weeks ago I had the day off so I decided to spend the morning with my Mom. When I arrived, she was in Relief Society. They had just had the opening song and prayer and one of the Relief Society sisters was giving a lesson on Patriotism. Mom just thumbed through the hymn book with her finger like she use to when she would help me to follow the song when I was little. She was off in never never land, but sat quietly throughout the LONG lesson. I wonder sometimes if they really understand how these people are in the center. If anything, I guess it was good practice for the one giving the lesson!:)
The Sunday before, Mom had acperated some food at dinner, or so they thought. My "favorite" (Not so much really) nurse called me about 9 and told me she was in bad shape, they needed me to come and they had called hospice. When I arrived, hospice was there and Mom seemed to be resting comfortably. Little confused! Anyway, she had choked and vomited and diarehha, the whole party...and the chances were very high that she would have fluid in her lungs that could develop into phomenia (Spelling...yeah, not so good at that word!) Now it was a waiting game.
This was such a surprise as that afternoon the visit with her & Dad went better than most. She seemed almost improved, if you can improve at this disease...When they called, it was a panic, but I'm not so sure as to what about. I don't panic or fear her death. I pray for it. But it did catch me by surprise. Linda was out of town, and that freaked me out a bit...not wanting to handle the big thing without her! It made me realize just how much she's in charge of, versus what I know.
I stayed about an hour and left as she seemed to be resting peacefully at this point. Called the next morning and received good report, bad report, mixed report--frustrating again! SIGH!~ Later learned that Mom did do well throughout the night and morning, then threw up some more so they put her back to bed. Linda arrived home and sat with her an hour or so for the next two days. Then this is the day I came. She's the same as before, maybe, just maybe a little more stronger. It's really hard to explain. She's loosing weight by the day. 145 lbs in January, down to 109 last weigh in about a month ago. We don't have a recent weight, but by the looks of her, she's down at least another 5 I would guess.
I wish I could be in that mixed up, lonely mind of hers. She speaks of her brother, her loved ones, both passed on and still alive. As Linda sat with her, she would speak more clearly while sleeping. When awake, she sings to you as part of the conversations. Mostly hymns. I miss my Mom!

Sweet High School days!

So tonight was sooo fun! Tanya, my best friend from high school called a couple of weeks ago because her and her sweet new hubbie need some electrical done. We stopped by tonight to check the job out and spent several hours with them as they treated us to dinner after the "shop talk". It was so fun to giggle and laugh with her like we did so many years ago. We have kept in touch over the years, but life has taken us on our own separate journey's so we haven't visited much in a LONG time! She hasn't changed. She's joyful, bubbly and just plain fun to be around. That's why we had sooo much fun together back in the day! We weren't all trouble....just mostly! Rick went to school with Steve, her husband so they had a little bit to catch up on as well. Good thing, cause Tanya & I didn't give them much to jump in on! I'm so happy for her new life and hope that we can have the opportunity to share some fun times together with them in the near future! Forever friends are truely that...it was if we hadn't missed a beat...so much more to catch up on and I can't wait!
Can you guess who's who here....
Tanya is #57 and I'm #43

UNCLE LEO...WE LUV YA!

Memorial Day itself was spent up at Uncle Leo's for his memorial. It still doesn't seem real that he's gone. He sure brings a smile to my face with many fond and fun memories! When we arrived at his place, as I got out of the car ane walked onto his property, my emotions took over. It just wasn't right that he wasn't on that porch to greet me. The emotions really took me by surprise..I don't know why...they just did. I love the times we have spent up there. He was so good to all of us and made every person he met feel loved and welcome! His hobby was making friends, and that he did. There were so many people there to honor and respect the man we all love! It was good for Dad to be there with his friends from Yuma! He really looked forward to that day and enjoyed the social circle that he has missed so much!

THE BEST SLIP N SLIDE EVER

Chris became "The Man" of the park with the ultimate slip n slide...people were getting on their phones, calling them to join in the fun...now if I can only get him to move the stupid gigantic piece of plastic out of my driveway!

Memorial Day weekend was spent hanging out with the fam..."sleep over" at gramma & Grampa's" and hanging out at the park...ultimate frisbee...picnic...and watching Chris & Shawn play ultimate Frisbee....then Chris & his friends broke out the biggest slip n slide ever....Maybe I'll figure it out on how to place that picture where I want it....

Chris & Tahnie were married on June 11, 2009 on a stormy, WET day, summer day. We had to give up a beautiful back yard wedding and have it at the near by church, but all in all it was a beautiful day for them. Still waiting on a real photographer pictures...mine were not the best, I had too many other things on my plate to be taking pictures....so hopefully we'll get those soon. Here's just a few of my favorites from my camera...
