Man...I need to be better at blogging! So much going on around here and nothing is recorded by pictures or journaling! What am I thinking!!
Saturday, we had Mick's kids while she worked and really enjoyed them. Kallie played for awhile too while Chris & Tahnie went birthday shopping for Tahnie's Mom..and not ONE picture. What was I thinking! We truely love having the kids here. They bring us so much joy and they keep us on our toes! Grandpa, play soccer with me, play baseball with me, play football, gramma, will you draw with me, play cars with me...sometimes we're okay with the question, "can I play the computer?" yes...please, go play the computer! PHEW we want their energy!
When Mick got off, Mick, Ang & I took off to Gardner village. Mick wants some new furniture and wanted to check out the sale. We were going to have the kids picture's taken with live bunnies until we found out the price..EEK! $85 per sitting. Are you kidding me! They are cute pictures, but well...not THAT cute. We'll take our own. The boys didn't want to go, and well...Mick needed some grown up time. So they stayed with Grandpa and us ladies left for a few hours. It was fun. I'm lame and only broke out the camera for Preslie. I really need lessons on this. We should have taken pictures of us girls as well. I really enjoyed the time with Mick & Angela. I love spending time with all of our kids! They each have grown into people that we are so proud of. I'm in awe as I watch Mick develop into this grown women with a family. Sounds weird, and I don't really know how to express it, but she's this developed wife, Mom, housewife, who is doing an amazing job with her family. She's become her own person, who is not only my daughter, but my friend! She's funny, loving, kind, and thoughtful of others. I'm lucky to call her my own! Angela is an amazing wife to Shawn. She's so supportive of all his desires. She also so thoughtful. She was telling us the other night how she went to her visiting teacher's house, because she's homebound with a small child who can't go out right now. She thought she needed a lift so she went to visit her. WOW! That's the true vision of sisterhood! I was touched by that!
Chris & Tahnie are officially moved in. Last night was their first night sleeping over. They have slowly been moving things in throughout the month, and made the final move yesterday. It was hard tearing the boys room down totally, so they can make it their own. I'm not sure why, but it meant, putting their childhood away I guess. I'm okay with Mick's room being gone, why was it so hard for theirs? Who knows. When Chris & Tahnie came to clean out Chris's room...I was a little stressed. So many garbage bags used and taken outside to be thrown away. So many things that were part of who Chris was as a little boy! I didn't want to part with many of them! I have to confess, I went dumpster, or garbage can diving. It was especially hard to tear down Shawn's. He's always wanted his room to remain the same. So his kids could go down to what use to be his room. I would have loved for that in a way...but at the same time-it doesn't make sense right now! Don't get me wrong...it feels good that we have the room to provide for a "lift up" for any of our kids. We're happy to have them. Putting away memories was hard for not only me, but the boys as well. Especially Shawn. I've lovingly packed them away...so that some day, we can pull them out for his little ones. Maybe make a cool office display for him someday! Silly, I know. But I love those times with our kids! Now, if I was a great blogger...I would have taken pictures of them each cleaning out their rooms, and packing it away...but well...you'll just have to use your imagination.
